I really enjoyed Nuno's tone. Wow, I believe I heard some of Dimes distorted tone character in there as well so the pickup has to be a factor! I liked his guitar tone, riffs, phrasing and song structure. Anyway it actually made me want to try a BIll Lawerence L-500 pickup again

The BL USA L500XL will get you that tone in spades.

Check out some videos of Extreme live in 1994. He was playing through an SLO, and his tone was Godly.

My 1991 Davies N4 came with a Bill Lawrence USA L500XL in it. The bobbins are filled with black epoxy and it measures 11.7k ohms. Nuno's rig must be very warm and dark sounding because that pickup is shrill and icepicky if you plug into an amp thats dialed in to a more traditional humbucker. I used to fit the L500XL on all of my guitars a long time ago (1996-1998), wonderfull pickups and yes L500XL for sure!

Dime says in a video recording that he was buying his Bill Lawrence pickups from Stewart Macdonald.

If you are looking for the Dimebag, Nuno, or Chuck Schuldiner tone then look no further. They all used these L500XL pickups and they are smoking hot! Fair warning in that they call for a steady hand to keep under control due to the high gain, so a noise gate may be a wise investment, but overall the clarity, depth, and agressive nature of the tone is to die for!

It's rare that you have all 3 in one pickup, you usually have to compromise, but not with the L500XL! Built Solid. Very Cool looking pickup! I can't believe the price with all that you get for it!

Incredibly Versatile Pickup

I've had this L-500R pickup for ten years with a Washburn N2 guitar, and I can say that this pickup has given me almost every tone I could ever wish for the bridge position. It has a very high output and if installed with a coil splitting function you get hot fender tele/strat bridge single coil sounds of early days
